We're the same age?
Reading The Times & The Trentonian in the studio the other morning...front page was a guy who graduated from WWP HS. Obama just picked him to lead the country into the tech world...the guy's super-smart, now has a fabulous, grown-up job in Washington, and he's the same age as me. Now, I'm not saying the guy didn't look good...he did...but, he looked soooo much older than me, and he's not, we were born the same year...1972. Do you know what I mean? It's hard to explain. I think all 30 year olds, 35 year olds, etc. should look pretty much the same. This guy just looked worldly, important, and much, much older than me! I was even intimidated by his picture...haha! I feel like a kid compared to him! I feel the same way with celebrities. Victoria Beckham just turned 35...I'm a few months older than she is...and looks like she's in her mid-40's...and that's a compliment...she looks great, just not her age. World experience must age you!
Know what I mean? Ever happened to you?

I know some people who are already balding and they are only a few years older than me (mid-20's) and i just can't believe it... although thats a little different from what you are talking about. i have seen people who are so much more "wordly" than me and maybe its just that we think they seem older because they are wiser or something, not that they necessarily look older...
ReplyDeleteI am just falling off my...chair, reading that Obama is younger than me!!! ??? I know exactly what you feel. OMG, may be it's a Harvard effect.... My only answer is that we don't see ourselves aging, and if your life looks like you're wonder woman, running from job to kids, flashing in groceries stores like theses carts have an engine...plus trying to fit some family events, along with some squeezed parties with friends, yes, time fly and we don't realize that we are getting older. We have a nice filter, between who we are, and who we are seeing in the mirror...and it's fine like that... don't change anything.
