Is it too early for Holiday Decorations?
I noticed a lot of people putting up their holiday decorations over the weekend! Is it too early for holiday decorations? I really think people were taking advantage of the warm weather...nothing's worse than trying to put them up in the freezing cold, and you can't even feel your fingers because they've gone numb from the cold! I think it's fine to put them up now...just don't light them until after Thanksgiving...and I mean the day after Thanksgiving! That's what we're doing! We love the holidays and it always comes & goes so quickly, so why not stretch it out a little & enjoy it for as long as possible? John's off from work this week & next, so he's putting them out, but we'll restrain ourselves from lighting them until after Thanksgiving! I think my need for a longer holiday season comes from my parents...let me explain...my birthday is Dec. 19th...every year, my parents would hold off putting the Xmas decorations up until after our bday (I have a twin sister), so we wouldn't feel like our b'day was getting overlooked because of the holidays. But, I didn't like that because everyone else in school would be talking about how they put their tree up and ours still wasn't up...and it didn't go up until a week before Xmas...that's way too late!!! So, now we do it way early, but not too early! HAHA! Thank God John loves Xmas as much as I do!

Hi Chris! Do you remember me? I met you through Lisa Fasanella, BTW how is she and her children doing?? Yes it is too soon to put up Christmas decorations, we didn't even celebrate Thanksgiving!! I thing we should enjoy one holiday at a time!! Thanks! Dee
ReplyDeletehi chris, its not too early, i just put mine up today. i wait to do my tree and the inside till after christmas, i only do the outside now to bet the cold. it was so nice today to do it. i love listing to you. thanks becky
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas more than just about anyone I have been teased mercilessly about my insane attachment to holiday music (I have a collection that exceeds 700 songs) I post Christmas song of the day both on my facebook and my twitter (missmary424.) Song of the Day today is a classic…Bing Crosby –White Christmas!
ReplyDeleteFor my Christmas starts Nov 1st. I personally consider Thanksgiving to be part of the Christmas Holiday… I do not typically put up the decorations until the Saturday of Thanksgiving. I can completely appreciate the logic of doing so while the weather is coopering, especially if you don’t light it up. Face it, there are an alarming number of houses that never took their directions down last year!
Christmas is about joy, so go with what makes you happy!
