1st bday parties are really for the parents!
That's what Dave made me realize this morning, after I told him that I had to go buy beer & wine and get a pedicure for Bailey's 1st bday party tomorrow! HAHA! She doesn't even know it's her bday, but I want it to be nice for her...not that she's even going to remember it, but there will be pictures, right? Ok...I'm trying to convince myself that all my pre-party stress today is going to be worth it someday! HAHA! We're not going crazy, but, like Tori Spelling, I love throwing parties...just family and a few close friends...no bouncy house or anything like that. Have you heard how crazy some 1st bday parties can be? I've read about people spending thousands, yes, thousands!
Have you ever been to one of "those" parties?
Happy 1st bday my little angel! Mommy, Daddy & Brady love you soooo much!

How about the people who register their child for their 1st birthday...SERIOUSLY!???
ReplyDeleteI remember when you were pregnant and kind of scared (for lack of a better word) that you were having a girl, since you had enjoyed having a boy so much. I'm sure it was quite a change, but in a great way! :) You sound very happy to have a baby girl :) My fiance and I have a baby girl and I know it's going to be weird if we have a boy one day. Our daughter will be one in July and we are probably going to do the traditional "family only" party. I've never understood the lavish parties for babies/children, but I guess Dave was right-they're more for the parents than the children, except in cases of celebrities/rich people, where they spoil their kids so much that the kids think those kinds of parties are actually normal.
