She did it!

Bailey stood up by herself for the 1st time on Saturday afternoon! She was hanging in the kitchen with me as I made lunch for Brady, who had just come back from swim lessons. I turned around, and couldn't believe my eyes...she was just standing there, clapping her hands! Awww...my big girl! I was so excited that I started clapping and yelling, "Yay, Bailey" that I think I scared her or distracted her, 'cause she fell back down! LOL! I called for John and she did it again! We were high-5ing...funny what gets you so excited! He ran to get the video camera, but as soon as she saw that, she stopped doing it. But, I snuck up on her later doing it some more, and got some great footage! Time is flying! I can't believe that she's close to walking...I wonder how long before she does that? It's gotta be close, right? She's also getting 4 teeth at once right now, and it's keeping her awake some nights, like last night! Time moves much slower when you're up almost all night! But, at least I got 3 hrs sleep, right? UGH! LOL!

  2. Yay! :)

I love how excited they get. It's like they know it's a whole new world for them :)

My daughter was standing pretty much as soon as she started crawling, but she's always, always had very strong legs (even when she was only a few weeks old, we could stand her on our laps). She was 6 1/2 months when she started crawling (then standing) and almost 11 months when she started walking. It was so funny because she would always pick herself up and stand in the middle of the floor, but didn't know how to go anywhere! :) Once she started taking her first few steps, it was only about a week before she was full blown walking. And now there is no stopping her! :)

I bet it also helps for your daughter to see your son walking/running. It probably gives her motivation to do it too so she can keep up with him :)
