Stop Ruining Good Food!
I'm sure this has happened to you at least once...you go get takeouts somewhere, and you're looking forward to the sandwich, in my case, a chicken parm sandwich, or whatever it is, they wrap it in aluminum foil, and when you get it home, all the cheese has stuck to the foil, so when you unwrap it, you've lost half the sandwich...the best part, in my opinion! UGH! So frustrating! Then, you try to scrape the cheese & sauce off the foil to save it, and it rarely works! I don't think I should be charged for half the sandwich, 'cause I had to throw half of it away on the foil! I told them about the problem once, and suggested that they put the cheesy stuff in containers, instead of wrapping them up, and the one guy said he agreed 'cause a lot of people complained about the same thing, but, they haven't...maybe it's a budget thing...so, life goes on! I feel better now...haha!

I totally agree with you that they should put it in a container rather than wrap it in foil. i have had similar situations with other types of food and specially requested a different package, and the staff are very hesitant to do so! Examples:
ReplyDelete1) Upon ordering takeout over the phone, i asked that they put the french fries in a small cardboard pizza box rather than styrofoam (when it's in styrofoam, condensation forms under the lid and makes the fries soggy!) they agreed over the phone, but didn't actually do it.
2) Upon getting a peanut butter choc chip cookie, i asked them to put it in a little box rather than a bag (in the bag, ALL of the choc chips on top immediately adhere to the top of the bag!). they wouldn't do it.
3) I asked for a box at a restaurant and they told me they will wrap it up for me. Considering how many times I have had a server forget and throw out my food, I asked if I could please do it. They said no.
It shouldn't matter if that is not the way they typically do it. These requests are not outlandish and as a customer, I am PAYING for this food. I don't want it to be ruined (or go missing!) simply because they can't package it properly. They should just accommodate my request so that I'm a happy customer (it's not like robots are wrapping up the food. Use some common sense...cheap packaging on top of melting surfaces = food stuck to the package! And I guess "Reynold's Release foil" is too expensive.)
Totally forgot about the chocolate thing! D&D should stop putting the chocolate-topped donuts in a bag for the same reason...the chocolate gets all over the bag!
ReplyDeletei hate when wawa wraps your hoagie HORRIBLY and then you get home and all of the insides are now not a part of the hoagie!
ReplyDeleteThat is the absolute worst part about getting a sandwich! The cheese is my favorite part too and when I unwrap and just want to enjoy...I can't. It's very upsetting. But I like the box idea. Wawa does it if you order a huge hoagie for a party or something...so why can't they do it for everyday use?
