Why Can't I Get My Newspapers Delivered On Time?
I've been so frustrated lately with my home delivery for our local Trenton-area newspapers!
For almost 7 years, since we've moved into our house, we've had our papers delivered on-time, if not early, even in bad weather, which is great! By "on-time" I mean before we go to work, and I leave early! Well, we have new carriers now, and I understand they may not be familiar with the route right away, but, wasn't there a note left behind saying which streets are at what time?
Apparently not! I can't be the only one affected by this type of situation, because most of us are creatures of habit...especially in the morning...we do the same thing, same time every weekday morning, and something like not having your paper there when you need it can really throw you off! Now what's happening, is that I have to stop & buy the papers on the way to work, 'cause they're no longer there when I leave...so, I'm double-paying for them! I've called, and they have been nice enough to give me some credit for double-paying, but, it's becoming an everyday thing...and they've even told him to deliver earlier(the one new guy is actually fine now, but the other one isn't!)! I saw the new guy one morning, and said that we're used to getting it earlier, and could he please show up earlier...I was very nice, and only asking him to show up 5 minutes earlier...seriously, 5 min...that's it, and he said, "Oh, I don't think I can do that!" How about getting up 5 min. earlier, dude...I'm a paying customer, and you're making me late for work, and most of the time, I don't see you at all, and a paper in my driveway when I get home from work is pointless!
So, if it doesn't change, I guess I'm going to have to cancel it, because it doesn't do me any good after I've left for work! It's ashame, because it's been flawless for so many years, and now this. Plus, I'll have to get up even earlier to stop & buy it...ugh!
Agree? Any advice on what to do? Has this affected you?

I hear you on that one! We no longer have carriers and now we just have the people who work at the newspaper building. All they do is come around in a car and throw it to the end of our curb which annoys me because we have a box specifically for our newspaper, which we ordered from them. My father is 72 years old and he has trouble walking and he gets so mad that he has to walk to the curb every day. Some days, its at our neighbors house and the neighbor has 2 copies of the newspaper! Cancel your newspaper, they will bargain with you and you'll end up getting free months
