Halloween's only been over for a few days and already the stores have been transformed into the North Pole...Xmas stuff everywhere...even Xmas music playing in one of the stores I was in last night! I'm not complaining, 'cause I love all the Xmas stuff...it gets me excited, a little stressed at the same time though, 'cause I've only done a little bit of shopping so far, but excited! It got me to thinking...poor Thanksgiving...a totally overlooked holiday anymore! It did have a little section in the store, but, the new Xmas stuff was the main attraction! I love Thanksgiving, and I think it deserves a little more attention! I saw the cutest turkey plates the other day...and a little "Give Thanks" banner that I'm going to hang from my fireplace! Plus, I really do like relaxing with family & friends on Turkey Day before the hustle & bustle of the holidays start...'cause there's no rest during the holidays even though there should be...too much cheer to spread! HAHA! We actually do the "go around the table and say what you're thankful for" thing in my family, which is always a nice "warm fuzzy!" Then, of course, the after dinner tradition of scouring the Black Friday sale fliers to see where the best deals are...back to the holidays, I know! Bring it all on...I love it all! You know what they say...It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I agree. Thanksgiving is way over looked. I will be in the hospital for this holiday season....having surgery on 11/24 and unless a person themselves is going to miss being with family, having to eat "holiday" meals in a hospital, one really doesn't come close to realizing the true meaning of the holidays no matter what one celebrates so make sure everyone enjoys every day to the fullest!! :o)
