Would you ever ask a stranger for money?
I got this horrible, panicky feeling that I was going to have to yesterday!
I took Brady to the State Theatre in New Brunswick for Nickelodeon's StoryTime Live...a lot of his fav characters, Dora, Swiper, Boots, Wonder Pets, Kai Lan, and the Backyardigans...yes, these are the "concerts" I'm going to these days! Although, Daughtry's coming soon...can't wait!
Anyway, we had to park in one of those huge parking garages...I pushed the little button, got the ticket, parked way up on the 5th level, and off to the show we went! So cute...Brady loved it! Ok, back to the car around 4:45pm...getting to be rush hour, and I just wanted to get out as quickly as possible before we got stuck in bigtime traffic! As we got closer to the garage, I noticed a LONG line...everyone was waiting to pay so they could get out...there was one of those machines. So, we waited & waited. When we got a little closer, I took my wallet out to grab some money....OMG...I only had 3 dollars! What? How could that be? I could've sworn I had at least a $10 bill! Think, think! Crap...I bought Brady a $15 spinny, light up thing in the show...leaving me $3! I started to sweat...we didn't have enough money to get the car out. I really thought I was going to have to ask someone in line for money...and what if no one offered to give me any...I had this whole plan in my head to write down their address and mail them the money back when we got home. I was hoping they wouldn't think I was going to rip them off with my son with me...I look honest, I think! Are you thinking how much of a dumb blonde I am yet? My husband is the logical thinker in our house, not me! I'm smart, I really am, graduated Cum Laude from college, but still can't logically figure out simple solutions to minor problems sometimes!
The guy behind me, noticing my pancicked state, told me that I could probably use a credit card. Of course, why didn't I think of that? Duh! Can you tell I don't go into many parking garages? So, crisis averted...I used a card, and there was even a cashier at the exit, who would've helped me too! Geez...all I pictured was us not being able to get the car out of the garage! Silly, I know!
Would you ever ask a stranger for money in a pinch????
