He thought I bought him a boat!
Yesterday was my husband, John's bday. We're leaving for a week at the jersey shore tomorrow morning, so I thought it would be fun to get him shore-related gifts! I made reservations for him to go parasailing and also rented waverunners...fun! I couldn't wait to see his reaction...every year when we're there we say we're going to do it and we don't! But, I still wanted him to have something to open besides a card. Hmmm, what to do! I stopped into the party store the other day to get some stuff for the Block party that I'm helping plan, and there they were...on clearance...a toy boat and a toy jetski (close enough to a waverunner!). Perfect...I'll wrap up the toys as his gift and he'll figure out his gifts, right? Wrong! He unwrapped the toy boat first...his face was priceless...he was soooo excited....even more than I thought he would be! I even started to think it was a little weird how excited he was getting! All of a sudden I realized that he thought I bought him a boat...a real boat...for his bday! So I quickly corrected him that he was going parasailing, and he tried to play it off and seem just as excited, but I knew he wasn't! So, the toy idea, not a good one after all! he is looking forward to parasailing though! He better be! LOL!
