Saturdays are usually busy at our house. Brady has swim lessons and there are usually a million errands I need to do that haven't gotten done during the week because of work, kids, etc! This past Saturday, I knew I wanted to squeeze a pedicure into the day before we went to a party that night...a girl's toes have to look good, right? HAHA! Right after John & Brady came home from his swim lessons, and before John could run outside to mow the lawn so we could get to the party on time, I grabbed my handbag and said, "I'm going to run & get a quick pedicure...I'll be back in half an hour!" He was cool with it, as long as it was quick! Which it usually is...it's one of those walk-in places, and I'm usually in & out in 20 min! When I got there, it was unusually crowded, so I asked what the wait time would be. She said 15 min, and brought me back to soak my feet! That's when I got trapped...I should have known better...don't soak your feet until you're sure of the wait time! Once I started counting people and techs, I realized it was going to be way more than 15 min! But, I couldn't go anywhere 'cause I was already soaking my tootsies! I was annoyed! Tell me the truth...even if it's going to be a half hour...I could've come back later! Of course, I forgot my cell, so couldn't even call home to tell John I was going to be later than I thought. After a wait that was double what she told me, I got a rushed through pedi, and they still charged me the same price...ugh! At least my toes were pretty in pink for the party!
Has that ever happened to you anywhere....salon, dr. office, etc?

YES! I told the ladies at the nail place that I had to be out the door within an hour. Got my pedi done, she started working on my nails and then I realized that I had to have left already! I had to rush to my hair appointment and go to the wedding with a pretty pedi and messy unfinished finger nails!
ReplyDeleteomg, same exact thing happened to me over the wknd too! i waited soaking in the tub for more than half an hour, which woulda been ok but my feet were starting to hurt a little bc the skin was so pruned! as much as i love a REALLY good sloughing of callouses and dead skin, i actually panicked when she got out the foot "grater" bc i was like, how is she gonna shave my pruned feet?? it worked out ok in the end, but the whole visit went nearly 90 min.
ReplyDeletei had a gyno appointment that i booked months in advance because my doctor is always booked. when i got there they brought me right into a room and told me to undress and the doctor would be with me shortly. i started playing games on my iphone (naked mind you!) and didn't realize an hour had went by. i popped my head out of the door to ask a nearby assistant what was taking so long and she said the doctor will be in in 2 minutes. ANOTHER hour went by and i finally got dressed went to reception and FLIPPED out because they shouldnt have told me to get undressed and wait if i wouldn't have been seen right away. i changed doctors after that i was so mad.
