How do you get PlayDoh out of the carpet???
I have a love/hate relationship with PlayDoh! I love it because Brady loves it, and it keeps him quietly entertained...I hate it because it's an absolutely mess! There's PlayDoh all over my house, even though we only allow him to play with it in the playroom! It gets on the carpet, which then sticks to the bottom of your feet/socks/shoes when you step on it, which you can't help doing because there are tiny pieces of it everywhere, and then you unwittingly bring it into other rooms of the house! I noticed it on the bottom of my slippers last night...UGH! Most of the time it's pretty easy to vacuum up, but I just noticed that we now have some clumps of it that are embedded in the carpet! Bright green PlayDoh, that so far won't come out of my beige carpet...I'm not happy!
There's gotta be a trick for getting it out of the carpet, right?
Help!!!

ReplyDeleteDon't stress about it. Once it all dries up (usually by the next day) it will crack and you can vacuum it up. If it seems to be all in one area (hopefully) you can also put an ice cube on it to freeze it and then it will come up more easily as well.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Defintely don't stress. Play-Doh compound will naturally dry and can be loosened with a stiff brush. If necessary, pick up dried crumbs with a dust buster or vacuum cleaner. Do not use hot water or cleaning solutions.

Yes, a stiff brush. If you don't have a Berber carpet, then a wire brush, a strong one, will do the trick. Once it's loosened with the brush, you can vacuum it up.
ReplyDeletealso a different kind of play dough is the modeling kind by crayola little pieces dont fall off they stay together usually :)
